Learn about the Ranch history...
Today, the Crooked River Ranch Club & Maintenance Association is the largest homeowners' association in Oregon with 2,639 property owners,
and a rapidly growing population of more than 5,000.
At the turn of the 20th century, a Texas oil man named Gates purchased the ranch property from homesteaders forming what became known
as the "Gates Ranch" encompassing a total of 12,000 acres (4,856 hectares). The main ranch house was built in
1916, and in 1997 the Ranch House was leased to the Crooked River Ranch Seniors Group to be used as a community center. The original Ranch House,
can be viewed today at the end Horny Hollow Road.
